Performance Workshop Theatre
Throughout the year, Performance
Workshop Theatre provides a creative environment where student actors
are developed by professional resident artists through training and
performance opportunities in company classes and productions. 0ur Theatre
School offers a wide range of Theatre Workshops for beginners, Professional
Master Classes and Individual Training for adult students; Playwriting
and Performance Classes for teens and youth. Enrollment per class is
limited to 10 participants due to the emphasis on individual coaching.

FALL WORKSHOPS AND
CLASSES –
ACTING I for Adult Beginners
with Yvonne Erickson
Saturdays: 10:00 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.
September 8th – October 13th (6 weeks)
A challenging class to find out how actors do what they do. A series of exercises based on the Strasberg and Meisner techniques will be incorporated into short, simple scenes, improvisation, and monologue work. Become familiar with the actor's stage vocabulary essential to all actors whether in community theatre or in the professional world. No experience is necessary. A maximum of ten students participate in the class and early registration is recommended.
Tuition: $ 225.
SCENE STUDY I
with Yvonne Erickson
Tuesdays: 7:00 p.m. - 9:30 p.m.
October 9th – December 4th (8 weeks)
(no class November 20th)
This scene study class will attract student actors who wish to expand their knowledge of the craft of acting through script analysis and related exercises. It will focus on familiarity with contemporary American plays in developing skills for scene work and auditioning. Previous experience essential, admission to this class is by interview or audition with the instructor only. A maximum of ten students participate in the class and early registration is recommended.

INDIVIDUAL TRAINING with Marc Horwitz

The Audition Feedback sessions are designed for actors who want to learn how effective their current audition presentations are and how to fine-tune them for the next audition.

The Audition Coaching sessions are designed for actors who want to locate and develop new audition material or to freshly approach older material.

DICTION
Day and evening by appointment: 1 hour sessions
Designed to benefit anyone with the need or desire to improve their voice and speech--actors, lawyers, broadcasters, teachers, and anyone who must deal with the public. The work focuses on removing regional and ethnic dialects, distracting or annoying vocal habits, and establishing an organic use of the vocal instrument that, without strain, is pleasing, clear, varied and dynamic.

FENCING ( Foil and Saber Technique )
Day and evening by appointment: 1 hour sessions
Beginning, intermediate, and advanced levels of technique are offered for each weapon.

The approach is designed to liberate the natural voice. The emphasis is on the removal of the blocks that inhibit the human instrument. The goal is a voice in direct contact with emotional impulse, shaped by the intellect but not inhibited by it.
