Oedipus
a
new version of the Sophocles play by Ellen McLaughlin
directed by
Marlyn G. Robinson
May 2nd - June 1st
A heroic King, unknowingly
is the cause of his people's suffering, and whose unrelenting search
for the truth reveals his own tragic corruption - the classic Greek
myth of Oedipus, who kills his father and marries his mother.
This new version, excitingly
reinterpreted by Ellen McLaughlin, has a striking resonance for today's
audience.
The role of Oedipus will
be performed by Marc Horwitz, who starred
in the title role of last season's award winning production of Faith
Healer by Brian Friel , voted #1 in City
Paper's Top Ten 2006 - The Year on Stage.
