Performance Workshop Theatre
is a non-profit professional theatre company and theatre arts training
school which has produced outstanding entertainment and educational
programming since 1976. We are founding members of the Baltimore Theatre
Alliance, an organization which promotes and supports the performing
arts in the Baltimore/Washington area.
Performance Workshop Theatre's
recent resident and touring productions have included The Real Thing,
[Un]told Stories, Macbeth, Old Times, and Paper Flowers directed
by Marlyn G. Robinson, the Theatre in Dialogue tours, conceived
and directed by Marlyn G. Robinson, Mixed Doubles, Revue Sketches,
and The Portable Pinter, directed by Marc Horwitz and The
Puppetmaster of Lodz directed by Marlyn G. Robinson, which received
recognition from the Baltimore Sun and City Paper. Marc
Horwitz was awarded "Best Actor" in the City Paper's Best
of Baltimore editions (1995 and 2002) for his performance in the
title role and the production was applauded as a highlight of local
theatre in the Baltimore Sun's Critics'Assessment of the Year's Noteworthy
Events in the Arts (1995) and City Papers Top Ten -The
Year on Stage (2002).
Throughout the year, Performance
Workshop Theatre provides a creative environment where student actors
are developed by professional resident artists through training
and performance opportunities in company classes and productions.
0ur Theatre School offers a wide range of Theatre Workshops for beginners,
Professional Master Classes and Individual Training for adult students;
Playwriting and Performance Classes for teens and youth . Enrollment
per class is limited to 10 participants due to the emphasis on individual
coaching. All classes are held at our Theatre in Baltimore. For registration

Our resident production and
touring programs are supported in part by The National Endowment for
